Lake Chelan Community Meetings

When and where: October 10, 9:00 a.m.-Noon at Campbell's Resort
October 14, 12:15-2:15 p.m. at Stehekin Landing (Recreation room)

Dear Stehekin Valley resident:

It's been nearly five years since Chelan County PUD received its new federal license to operate the Lake Chelan Hydro Project for the next 50 years. We've also just been through one of the most unusual winter and spring refill seasons in the lake's history. We know people are interested in how things are working.

Chelan County PUD is holding two public meetings to discuss the lake level operating plan that is regulated by the Lake Chelan Hydro Project federal license that was issued Nov. 6, 2006.

At the meeting in Chelan, PUD staff will discuss what has occurred over the last five years compared to what was anticipated during nearly five years of license negotiations. You will also have an opportunity to provide your ideas and ask questions about how Lake Chelan has been managed under the new license. The Stehekin meeting has been scheduled for the convenience of our uplake customers. Manager John Janney and Generation/Transmission Managing Director Kirk Hudson will fly to Stehekin to host an informal discussion there. We plan to hold a follow-up meeting after we review all the comments and ideas.
