Arts and Humanities of Stehekin
Present Cascadian Inspiration

Cascadian Inspirations opens in the Golden West Gallery on Friday, May 16th. The exhibit, featuring artwork by Roxanne Everett, Lori Story and Sue Walker, will be on display until June 18th. There will be an opening reception on May 16th at 7:00 with the artists talking about their work at 7:30.

All three artists have cabins in the Stehekin Valley and have spent considerable amount of time drawing inspiration from the area. Roxanne Everett will be displaying landscape and botanical narratives in a wide range of medium including oil, acrylics, watercolors and mixed media collages. Lori Story will be exhibiting a combination of batik and quilting works depicting birds and flowers. Sue Walker, a high school art teacher, will be showing oil paintings focusing on the water, the colors of the area and "how the environment stimulates and inspires this exaggerated use of color".

The gallery is located in the Golden West Visitor Center in Stehekin. The gallery is part of Arts and Humanities of Stehekin, a non-profit organization providing exhibits and programs that promote understanding and appreciation of the North Cascades through the arts. The gallery operates in a cooperative venture between Arts and Humanities of Stehekin and the North Cascades National Park.
