June
Verse:
Summer's pulse
quickens and flows,
and in lengthening light
a fullness grows.
The whitened
loads of mountains tall,
surge, helpless, resounding,
to fall in torrents furious and deep,
beneath the relentless sun.
A fresh proud
liberty is then unleashed,
and a rich full year calls us to meet,
and face the sun,
and thank each other for what we've become.

This
years graduation began with the tradition of the class playing on recorders
and singing"Fare You Well"
Mr. Scutt gave a
great summery of the the year and the last week as well. The "Older
girls" arrived at school before him one morning. Yet another traditions
the kids try for as getting in ahead of Mr. Scutt in the morning is not
an easy task.

Each member of the
class recited a poem this year. Some very funny and some poems of rememberance.
All were recited very well.
Mr.Scutt also read a story he had written about the problem of not listening
well. He spoke about being the one who was not listening well when one
of the students told him the flower starts being used in a science experiment
needed water. He did not heed this warning and so arrived one early morning
to find the starts gasping for water. It was a very funny and true story.
The class sang a medley of songs from the years. Included in the medley
were: Kookaburra, Soul Cakes, Mr. Sun, Soul Cake, White Sand and Barges.
There were many nice
comments and tributes to Ursula's smiling face and sunny disposition.
There were also some fun photos of an interesting snowball fight Ursula
had with a past classmate. Mr. Scutt talked of her excellent school record
and her willingness to help and lead the class as an 8th grader. Her kindness
to others was mentioned again and again. Liz presented the "Community"
gift which is a beautiful hand made box by Don Pitts. She talked about
Ursula's smiling friendly face and good cheer. The "School"
gift of the traditional quilt came next given by Rene. Then the class
lead by Ursula headed out to serve, and of course eat, graduation cake
and punch
It was a lovely evening
and we wish for Ursula all things good in her future!
